To ensure the good condition of sewer assets, it is necessary to move toward an asset management approach, where taking care of the system´s maintenance and performance becomes a priority. This training explores the standard techniques for gathering information on wastewater pipelines, their strategic integration into asset management, and its use for smart decision-making strategies for the maintenance and rehabilitation using trenchless technologies. This course is designed for those involved in the operation and management of wastewater and stormwater pipelines.

Provides 0.4 CEU credits.

Attendees receive Certificate of Participation released by The University of Texas at Arlington - UTA.

Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, where to start, how to best apply it to the underground industry, Best practices and Application cases. How to apply A.I. to increase productivity and decision-making processes.

Introduce the attendees to Artificial Intelligence for the underground Industry. Introduction to best practices and how to apply it to maximize investment and productivity. A.I. Application for quality control, as a training tool and workload planning and asset management.

1st Hour
Introduction to A.I and Best practices.
1. Introducing attendees to A.I and available technologies for the underground infrastructure industry
2. How to get the most of A.I by applying best practices
3. A.I. for pipelines and sewer structure.

2nd Hour 
How to apply A.I in decision-making and workforce management
1. Understanding A.I results and data Q/A .
2. Decision-making solutions utilizing A.I.
3. Reporting and Tools for Asset Management utilizing A.I.

Smith Rangel, M.Eng.

Smith
Civil Engineer with a Master´s degree in Engineering - Project Management (MEPM) from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA. She managed projects in Baltimore County and has led trenchless technology asset rehabilitation projects valued at over $100 million. As an instructor for the North American Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO), she has trained professionals across several Latin American countries, including Colombia, Panama, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Venezuela, Peru, Argentina, and Costa Rica.
She serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Buried Asset Management Institute - International (BAMI-I) and is also an instructor for its Asset Management Certification Program. Currently, she works as an independent trenchless technology consultant and as a adjunct professor in the Civil Engineering graduate programs at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá.
